Prizes guaranteed - $10,000 in total scholarships, 78 Trophies

9th-12th Championship- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $2,000 scholarship and get to play the first move of the first round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

9th-12th U1200- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $1,250 scholarship and get to play the first move of the fourth round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

4th-8th Championship- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $2,000 scholarship and get to play the first move of the second round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

4th-8th U1000- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $1,250 scholarship and get to play the first move of the fifth round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

K-3rd Championship- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $2,000 scholarship and get to play the first move of the third round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

K-3rd U700- Trophies to top 10 individuals and top 3 teams. First place individually will receive a $1,250 scholarship and get to play the first move of the third round of the Super Grandmaster Match taking place after the scholastic in the stadium.

We will also award one $250 scholarship in a drawing! To get one ticket in the drawing, post your entry to our event on either Facebook or Instagram. Write the name of your player in the post and mention that he is playing in the Universal Open in DFW! Email us your screenshot submission before June 10th. The drawing will take place right before the 2nd round.

You do not need to be in a team to play in this event, individuals are welcome to play and go for individual prizes and scholarships. A team is defined as 4 or more players from the same school in the same section. Teams can be however large they would like to be. However when we calculate a teams score we only use the top 4 performing players from that team. To form a team, email us at UniversalChessTour@gmail.com with all the names of your team members, they should have already paid their entry.

Graduating seniors in class of 2025 may play this event.

5 Rounds G30 D0. USCF Rated.

Projected schedule: 1st round, 8:00AM. 2nd round, 9:15AM. 3rd round, 10:30AM, 4th round, 11:45PM, 5th round, 1:00PM, Awards ceremony, 2:20PM. There will be an opening speech 15 minutes before the first round that is optional to attend.

This is a projected schedule, there may always be delays.

Online registration is $99 online, and will be $128 after June 14th. Online registration and will close at 11:59pm June 20th. There will be no registration available tournament morning on-site.

Notation is only required in each Championship section. Boards and clocks are provided.

Entry is 80% refundable, but non-refundable within a week from the event.
